Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I hope you and your families had a safe, restful and happy Labor Day! Each year Labor Day is also a time for reflection.

Please take a minute sometime today, to remember all the men and women of the labor movement who risked their jobs and their lives to fight for the weekend, the 40-hour work week, secure wages and benefits that working families deserve, that we may often take for granted on Labor Day.

I look forward to greater things ahead for all of us, as a labor movement. Thank you for your hard work and dedication every day. It is deeply appreciated.

I hope you all enjoyed a well-deserved day off!

Fraternally,

Alan Marzullo
Business Manager

Delta Dental & EyeMed – Effective 4/1/2024

As a reminder, the IBEW Local No. 43 & Electrical Contractors Welfare Fund Trustees selected a new dental benefit through Delta Dental, & vision benefit through EyeMed effective April 1st, 2024. These benefits are available to all members currently enrolled in the UMR or Humana IBEW health plans.

Please ensure that your Dental and Vision providers are submitting claims for these services to Delta Dental (dental) or EyeMed (vision). Once the claim has been processed by Delta Dental or EyeMed, you will receive an Explanation of Benefits summarizing your patient responsibility, if any.

For the best results, in-network providers should not be billing you until after the claim has been submitted and processed. After the claim has been processed, Delta Dental and EyeMed will share the settled claim payment details with our HRA account vendor. The patient responsibility on your bill should match the Explanation of Benefits. Paying the provider your patient responsibility after the claim has been processed will reduce your need to provide substantiation to the HRA account vendor.

Free, Confidential Counseling Services provided by Mental Health Professionals are available either in-person or over the phone. We encourage you and your eligible family members to take advantage of this benefit whenever you feel that life is getting too stressful.
