Brothers and Sisters,
Although this year has been filled with many new challenges, we have
overcome them together as a local union.
Additionally, it is hard to tell when there will be an end date to COVID,
however, there is never a wrong time to start the new year out with positivity
and well wishes.
May the New Year bring you and your family’s peace, joy, and happiness!
Cheers to a successful 2022!
Fraternally,
Alan Marzullo

Understanding Your Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
What are qualified medical expenses?
- Qualified medical expenses are those specified in the plan that qualify for the
medical and dental expense deduction. Examples include amounts paid for doctors’
fees, prescription medicines, necessary hospital services not paid for by insurance.
-
Qualified expenses can include payments for medical, dental and pharmacy
deductibles, copayments, and co-insurance.
- insulin
- over-the counter medicines and drugs, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE PURCHASED WITH A PRESCRIPTION
- over-the-counter medical devices and supplies, such as crutches, bandages, and blood sugar test kits
- menstrual care products
- Qualified eligible expenses are further defined in the IRS Publication 502, Medical and Dental Expenses.
All HRA transactions are subject to substantiation.
- Save your receipts and documentation relating to any medical expense paid with your HRA Account (paper claim
or debit card) as you may be required to submit this information to the Plan.
- You may not use the HRA Account to pre-pay for medical, dental, vision or other health related services.
