Sisters and Brothers,

In a continued effort to keep you informed, I wanted you to be aware that all private sector Employers in New York will now be required to allow their employees up to four (4) hours of paid time off to receive the COVID-19 injection under a bill signed into law Friday. The law takes effect immediately. The law expires December 31, 2022 unless renewed.

The law allows workers to take up to four hours of time away from work per injection, and that time is not allowed to be taken from an employee’s earned time off, like vacation or sick time.

The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) has notified all signatory contractors of their obligations under this new law. We will continue to work with our contractors regarding this responsibility.

Please click the following link for additional information regarding the COVID Vaccine Leave signed into law.

Here are some tips to use before, during, and after your medical appointment to make sure you get the best possible care

One way you can make sure you get good quality healthcare is to be an active member of your healthcare team.

Patients who talk with their doctors tend to be happier with their care and have better medical results.

    • Ask questions to make sure you understand what your doctor is telling you
    • Let your doctor know if you are worried about being able to follow his or her instructions
    • If your doctor recommends a treatment, ask about options
    • If you need a test, ask:
      • How the test is done?
      • How it will feel?
      • What you need to do to get ready for it?
      • How will you get the results?
  3. Find out what to do next. Ask for:
